The Making of Repair

Ever since the beginning of my career, it has been common for my clients to talk about the same sets of skin conditions: Skin that suffers from breakouts, oily, feels congested, inflamed, itchy, sensitive, as well as oily and dry at the same time. These common skin conditions, in addition to acne and dryness, are all results of skin damage.

Skin damage can be caused by irritants in lotions, soaps, over-cleansing, retinoids, allergies, hormones, as well as aging, genetics, stress, poor nutrition, inadequate hydration, dehydration, lack of sleep, excessive UV exposure, pollution, chemical treatments and other irritants.

When I first started treating skin, I almost always started with intense and long cleansing procedures (3 Step Cleansing )to reduce skin congestion, but I soon realized that some of the treatments was making my client’s skin more sensitive to the other treatment steps that followed.

For that reason, I created the “repair” step in the facial treatment process. Repair helped restore my clients’ skin barrier by nurturing and building up the surface layer. I realized that this step helped reduce skin sensitivities immediately, and the effects lasted long term.

The ingredients in the Repair step and its method of application varied depending on the skin’s condition at that moment during the treatment. The natural, anti-inflammatory ingredients became another key to unlock long-term benefits in my practice. Personalizing the Repair step and being attentive to my clients specific skin needs remains the most important step of my facial treatments.

In the treatment process, Repair is typically the first product applied on the skin when it is vulnerable and freshly stimulated from the-various cleansing and exfoliating treatments. Then, to conclude the process, it’s applied again as a skin-protective finishing step.
