SKIN TALK and Sense of touch
Over the years, I have had many conversations with my clients, learning that often they rush their skin care routine - never knowing or noticing the true needs of their skin, never knowing the purpose or feeling the unique sensations of the products that they are using.
My treatments and products are intentional and created for the individual client at the particular moment and time when I see them. And they begin with Skin Analysis.
My first and most intuitive/and critical component of skin analysis is the Touch test - with my eyes closed, gently touching and reading the skin… this follows with ,few questions addressed to my client.. ( skin concerns, life style ) more in depth observations with wood lamp, skin scope. And other professional devices that capture skin images of their skin texture, measure skin hydration, pore density, and pH levels.
There is no magic protocol and devise for every skin scenario, however the importance of identifying your skin condition determines what ingredients to use and the products’ potential outcome.
During skin analysis sessions I have always been most dependent on touch. For me, the - Touch test is the most important skin analysis step. It’s a step that I depend on more than on any other high tech analysis devises and even my own eyes. Touch provides a map of your skin surface. Feeling the skin, its layers and imperfections provides almost all of the information I need, which later leads to the creation of simple formulas and protocols designed to a personalized treatments and home routines for my clients.
I learned a lot about the skin’s needs and characteristics through touch and the ever changing seasons.
So, it’s very important to me that my clients skincare product choices and routine, your skincare products and routine, inspires, attentiveness and connection with your self and your skin in the present moment.
Let the moment you touch your skin be moment of awareness and nurture, more than just an application, routine or applying a skin care serum and hopping for the best, relying on high tech analyze to correct a skin issue or recommend a product.
Whether it be for 20 seconds or 20 minutes touch your beautiful skin and feel. Come to feel the thickness, texture, tone, the unevenness, blemishes, fine lines, the tensions on your face or around the jawline, and learn to “read” the messages.
Thriving skin, your skin speaks and needs quality and fresh ingredients to preserve and promote healthy cells and maintenance.Your skin is unique and in order for you to care for it properly, you must learn about it… choose the ingredients you use in your skincare to help you preserve healthy cell development and let your light touch do the work for you. In order to preserve healthy cell development your skin needs simple, fresh and nutrient ingredients.
There is an overwhelming range of skincare products with many promises and application recommendations including technologies. Most skincare products have hidden chemicals in their products for a longer shelf live and over time, their therapeutic effect on the skin decreases and no longer provides the promised results. Also, we can not ignore the impact that the new beauty at home technologies are having on one’s self image and individuality, some of them emphasizing imperfections and promoting certain type of beauty ideal.
